Cooling Bandana

by Mary Lou on August 6, 2010

Heat is hard on your dog.  In the Pacific Northwest, summers aren’t typically as sunny or hot as many places in the country, yet I can still see the how quickly my dog is effected by the season’s increased sun and heat.

Here’s a reasonably inexpensive idea to help cope with sun and heat in those remaining hot days of summer (yes -there is still some summer to be had!).

Cool-it Bandana from Outward Hound is a cloth bandana stuffed with non-toxic polymer crystals that stay cool for several hours! Just soak the bandana in cold water then place on your dog’s neck.   It comes in three sizes which fit dogs with neck sizes ranging from 8″ to 26″.  The bandanas are also edged with a reflective strip for easy visibility. They are reusable and hand washable.
